[tweetmeme]When The Bomb Hits
You move along day by day. You do what you need to do to get by. You are making it. You are just OK.
And then the bomb hits…..
You lose your job.
Someone gets a serious diagnosis or dies
You lose your house
Your partner leaves
Whatever it is.. It’s a BOMB for sure. You know it when it hits. The world stops. Life feels surreal. Nothing else seems to matter. You can’t function. Crawling into bed seems like the only solution. This feels like the last straw to your mental well being. You don’t want to take one more thing. You CAN’T. At least you THINK you can’t.
OK, so at first you are immobilized, emotional, angry, irrational. Go ahead and feel what you need to feel. But know that the real solution is to stay focused on moving forward. We don’t always have the luxury of falling apart. But we need to feel.
I am here to tell you that bombs are not bigger than you and what you are capable of. Bombs are devastating for sure, but they do come with life lessons attached. They are different for each of us.
Your lesson could be courage, or self value, or inner strength. You could be presented with all this to show you your perseverance, stamina and ability to thrive in spite of. Maybe it’s your time to create a miracle or at least be open for one to occur.
We know that bombs happen to all of us. No one is spared. NO ONE. But when it’s YOUR bomb it’s huge. And no one will ever understand the magnitude or the impact it has on you. They are not supposed to know or understand. This is yours to experience fully to get what you need to get from this.
When a bomb hits, give yourself a short time period to feel. Even if it’s several times per day, feel your feelings with the intent to release them. But in between, MOVE forward. You may only be able to take baby steps. Keep moving. You may cry every step. Keep moving. You may fall apart, keep moving. This is your time to break through this negativity. You do this by continuing to move through it.
And then… one day. You will feel the smoke clear. You will hear world noise again. You will have made it through. You will have thrived in spite of. And you will never be the same.
