Professional Connections with a Heart

What’s the difference between a business connection and a Professional Connection with a Heart?

Did you ever meet someone professionally and immediately know that you wanted to build a relationship with them? You just felt that they were compatible in the way you do business and it could be, well, fun as well as productive?

Well, I just met someone like that. Bobby, who calls himself ‘Your Hometown Guy’, called me one day while I was driving about one of my credit repair ads. Immediately, he asked what the incentive was for my customers to restore their credit and if it were because they wanted to buy a house, he was interested in being a referral source.

Poor Bobby had to sit back as I boasted about the reason for his call. I thought that was so innovative. I have had only a select few professionals who have contacted me on an ad where it was creative marketing in reverse. Since I am a business coach, I love creativity.

Back to Bobby, I don’t just refer professionals for the sake of referring them. I like to know about them and feel if they are a good fit for me and my clients. Bobby agreed; after all, he had no clue about my work ethics either. That’s why we planned a phone conversation when we both had more time to talk.

During our first conversation, I learned that I was spot on about Bobby. First of all, he was not just a family man, but a very proactive one at that. Our calls were important to him, he wanted me to feel assured, but his children’s needs were also a priority. He had a way of creating a balance to meeting the demands of his family and our call that led me to believe that he can dance with chaos and interruption with diplomacy and grace.

We spoke for quite a while. We talked about ourselves, our families and our business. Then Bobby told me about some of the programs he offers for first time home buyers and it blew me away. Not just for my clients, but I found out that I qualify for a first-time home buyer loan since I haven’t owned a home in 3 years. His rates were great and his terms were so enticing. I decided during that call that I wanted to work with Bobby and would be happy to refer him to my ‘people’.

I asked him to write a blurb so I could post it on my social media pages for everyone to see. But, then I thought to myself, ‘I like personal relationships and I know others do as well.’ I wanted you all to KNOW Bobby, not just read about his qualifications.

He’s super nice guy who cares tremendously about helping his clients. So much so, that he cared enough to learn about credit restoration instead of offering only one option of high interest rates and down payments to his clients. I loved that.

Now that I have connected with Bobby, I want you to connect with him if you are looking to buy a home. Give ‘Your Hometown Guy’  a call to see what he can offer. It will be worth your time. Tell him that his new-found friend Fran sent you. OK?
